Sandhills Family Heritage Association is a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization and relies on our generous donors who give their time, talent and monetary gifts. Help support our mission to save and protect natural resources, livelihoods and African American cultural heritage in rural, underserved, limited-resource communities.
Monetary gifts – The easiest and most effective way to know your charitable gift is in place and making a difference.
Volunteer – We are fortunate to benefit from the extraordinary efforts of our dedicated volunteers. However, we are always looking for additional volunteers.
SFHA uses donations to improve the quality of life of families in four rural Sandhills counties through programs and services that:
Promote economic self-sufficiency in underserved and limited resource communities.
Preserve community assets
Protect our land and natural resources
Support local farmers and landowners
Operate local farmers market
Promote sustainable farming and healthy eating habits
Create local jobs and small businesses
Preserve historic landscapes and African American cultural heritage
Provide community service opportunities for youth and adults
Document African American contributions to North Carolina history
Provide work-study projects for university students across North Carolina
Honor our community elders
Revitalize our communities and local economies
Offer continuing consumer education workshops
